We spend time with your team to understand how your business runs, then work out the right solution with you before anything gets built.
Most systems get built from a brief. A brief is someone's summary of the business, written down once, and by the time it reaches a development team the detail that mattered has usually gone. We start the other way round, with your team, watching how the work gets done.
What comes out is a specification you could hand to any competent team: what needs building, in what order, what it will take, and which parts of your business we would leave alone. If you build it with us, it feeds straight into the work. If you don't, it is still yours.
What you get
- Time with the people who do the work
- A picture of how your business runs today
- What to build, and in what order
- What it will take, in time and money
- What is worth leaving as it is
- A specification you own, whoever builds it
- Where AI helps, and where it does not
- A straight answer on whether to build at all
How this works
We come and look
We spend time with your team and your operations rather than reading a brief on a call. Most of what matters never makes it into a document.
We work it out with you
We come back with what we think should be built and why, and we argue it through with you before anyone writes a line of code.
You get a specification you own
Scope, sequence, what it will take and the risks we can see. If we build it, this is what we build from.
Where we have done this
Questions people ask
No. The specification is yours either way, and it is written so another team could pick it up. We would rather you had a clear plan than a reluctant commitment.
Sometimes not, and we will tell you when that is the case. More often there is a gap between what a business thinks it needs and what its operations are struggling with, and finding that gap early is far cheaper than finding it halfway through a build.
It depends on how much of the business we need to see. It is a short, paid piece of work, and we agree the figure with you before it starts — never after.
